Privacy policy

This policy explains how TJD Group Ltd uses personal information when you visit tjdgroup.co.uk, contact us about our electrical, solar, renewable energy or property services, or leave a customer review.

1.1 Who is responsible for your information?

TJD Group Ltd is the controller of the personal information collected through this website. For privacy questions or requests, email info@tjdgroup.co.uk or telephone 07854 125096.

1.2 Information we collect

  • Enquiries: your name, email address, telephone number if supplied, postcode or project location, selected service, customer type, preferred contact method and message. We also record when the enquiry was submitted and the notification status.
  • Correspondence and projects: information you provide when discussing a quotation, arranging work or contacting us by phone or email. If you become a customer, relevant correspondence forms part of the project record.
  • Reviews: your name, email address, rating, review title, comments and confirmation that the review describes your genuine experience.
  • Security information: technical information used to check submissions for spam, including temporary hashed contact and connection identifiers. Google reCAPTCHA also processes information about your browser, device, network and interaction with its service.
The enquiry form marks required fields. We need these details to understand and reply to your request. A telephone number is required if you ask for a phone or text reply. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or details about other people unless necessary for your enquiry.

1.3 Why we use it and our lawful bases

  • Responding to requests and providing services: to discuss your requirements, prepare quotations and arrange work. Where you are the prospective or actual customer, we rely on taking steps at your request before a contract, or performing that contract.
  • Business correspondence: where you contact us on behalf of an organisation, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to relevant enquiries and managing business relationships, taking account of your rights.
  • Website security and reviews: our legitimate interests in preventing spam and misuse, keeping the website secure, and managing genuine feedback about our services.
  • Legal records: where applicable, complying with legal obligations such as accounting requirements, and our legitimate interest in establishing or defending legal claims.
Submitting an enquiry does not sign you up to a marketing mailing list. If we ask for consent for a separate use, we will explain that use and how to withdraw your consent.

1.4 Enquiries, reviews and spam protection

Website enquiries are stored privately in WordPress for authorised administrators. An email notification containing your enquiry is also sent to our configured business inbox. Review submissions are managed using Site Reviews. A published review can display your name, rating, title and comments; your review email address is not displayed as part of the review. Both forms require Google reCAPTCHA v3 and a hidden honeypot field to prevent automated submissions. Google form protection is required for online sending and loads on pages containing a protected form once its keys are configured. Cookie choices do not disable this protection. We use it for website security and spam prevention. You can contact us by phone or email if you prefer not to use a Google-protected form. Google produces an automated risk score which can cause a submission to be rejected. If you cannot use the form, contact us directly by phone or email so that our team can consider your enquiry.

1.5 Who receives information?

Authorised TJD personnel handle enquiries and customer correspondence. Nexar Web Services provides our website hosting and email services. These services handle website data and email as part of delivering and supporting those services. Google receives technical information through reCAPTCHA; see Google’s privacy policy and terms. We may also disclose relevant information to professional advisers, authorities or other recipients where needed to meet a legal obligation or deal with a legal claim. Public reviews are visible to website visitors.

1.6 Processing outside the UK

Google operates internationally and may process reCAPTCHA information outside the UK. Its privacy policy explains its international processing and transfer arrangements. You can contact us for information about the recipients and safeguards relevant to your personal information.

1.7 How long we keep information

Retention depends on the purpose of the record. We assess whether an enquiry is still needed to respond, prepare a quotation or follow up an active request. If work proceeds, relevant records may be needed to administer the project, deal with guarantees or disputes and meet applicable legal obligations. These factors, including any applicable claim period, determine how long the records are needed. Website enquiries and email copies require manual deletion; they do not automatically expire after submission. Published reviews may remain available while relevant to the service and feedback they describe. Contact us if you want us to review or remove information you supplied. Temporary hashed identifiers used by the website’s rate-limiting controls expire after up to one hour.

1.8 Your rights and complaints

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restricted use or a portable copy. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful use. These rights have conditions; we may need to keep information required by law or for a legal claim. Contact info@tjdgroup.co.uk with your request. We may need to check your identity before releasing information. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator.

1.9 Cookies, other websites and changes

The cookie section below explains browser storage and Google reCAPTCHA. Links to services such as Facebook and Checkatrade take you to websites with their own privacy practices. We may update this policy when our website or processing changes; the date above identifies the current version.

Cookie policy

Manage cookie choices This policy explains cookies and similar browser storage used by tjdgroup.co.uk. The privacy section above explains how personal information is handled.

2.1 What are cookies and browser storage?

Cookies are small files a website places in your browser. They can support functions such as signing in or protecting a form. Session storage keeps information within a browser tab and normally ends when that tab’s session closes. Persistent cookies remain until their expiry date or until you delete them.

2.2 How this website uses them

Our website plugin does not add analytics or advertising trackers. The public home, contact and review pages checked on 6 October 2026 did not load analytics or advertising scripts. The contact and review forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which is a separate Google service. WordPress also uses storage for certain built-in functions, as described below.

2.3 Google reCAPTCHA on our forms

Our enquiry and customer review forms load Google reCAPTCHA v3 to help distinguish genuine visitors from automated spam. This involves requests to Google and its supporting resources, including google.com and gstatic.com. Google receives technical information about the browser, device, network and use of its service. Cookie: _GRECAPTCHA. Google states that reCAPTCHA sets this cookie when executed to provide risk analysis. Google controls its expiry and any other cookies associated with its service; a fixed lifetime has not been independently verified for this website. Existing Google cookies and browser settings can also affect the information available to Google. Read Google’s reCAPTCHA information, its privacy policy and cookie information. If you prefer not to use a form protected by reCAPTCHA, contact us by email at info@tjdgroup.co.uk or call 07854 125096.

2.4 WordPress cookies and session storage

These functions depend on how you use the site. Login cookies are relevant to authorised users signing in, rather than every visitor browsing public pages.
  • wordpress_test_cookie: checks cookie support on the login screen; a session cookie.
  • wordpress_[hash], wordpress_sec_[hash] and wordpress_logged_in_[hash]: support authentication and identify a signed-in session. Their lifetime depends on WordPress’s login settings and whether “Remember Me” is selected.
  • wp-settings-[user] and wp-settings-time-[user]: save a signed-in user’s interface preferences; expiry is set by WordPress.
  • wp_lang: stores a selected login language, if used; a session cookie.
  • wpEmojiSettingsSupports: session storage used by WordPress to check whether the browser displays emoji correctly. It was observed on the pages checked and normally lasts for the browser tab’s session.
WordPress may also set a wp-postpass_[hash] cookie if you enter a password for a password-protected page. This supports access to that page; its expiry depends on the site’s password-protection settings. See WordPress’s cookie documentation for more information about its built-in cookies.

2.5 Server caching and spam controls

Our website’s default 24-hour page cache stores eligible pages on the server, rather than setting a visitor tracking cookie. Form pages are excluded from that cache. Temporary hashed identifiers used to limit repeated form submissions are also stored on the server, for up to one hour; they are not browser cookies.

2.6 Your saved choice and form protection

The compact cookie card provides information and a Got it acknowledgement. No optional analytics, advertising or embeds are configured by our website plugin. Review the information at any time using Manage cookie choices in this section. Saving closes the controls quietly. Google form protection is required for online enquiry and review submissions and loads only on pages containing those forms when its keys are configured. It is shown as Required in the cookie information and has no preference switch. Acknowledging the card, or changing optional choices if services are introduced in future, does not disable form protection. Phone and email remain available if you prefer not to use it. A first-party preference cookie named nexar_tjd-group_consent remembers your acknowledgement on this website for up to 180 days. It contains the information revision, date saved, expiry date and configured optional choices (currently none). It uses SameSite=Lax and Secure on HTTPS. A changed information revision asks you again. This cookie does not identify you or authorise analytics or advertising. If cookies cannot be saved, a notice explains that your choice applies only on the current page. Browser controls can delete this cookie. A previous cookie, if your browser refuses to replace it, may apply when you return; allow cookie storage or clear this site’s cookies to change the saved choice.

2.7 Your browser controls

Your browser lets you inspect, remove or block cookies and other site data. Blocking storage or Google resources can prevent login or form verification from working. You can still contact us directly by phone or email. Google form protection is required for our online forms. No optional analytics or advertising preferences are offered because the website plugin does not install those tools. If services requiring a choice are introduced, their use and the relevant controls must be explained before they are enabled.

2.8 Other websites and policy updates

Following an external Facebook or Checkatrade link opens another website whose own cookie policy applies. This policy may change when our website services change. For questions about browser storage or personal information, email info@tjdgroup.co.uk.
